Bamboo Hardwood Flooring - Do’s and Don’ts to
Remember

Bamboo is an excellent choice in hardwood flooring, and installation of this
type of hardwood flooring is sure to make your home look great. Bamboo hardwood
flooring is very unique in appearance and it is also wood that can be very long
lasting if it is taken care of properly. The following are some important tips
to remember to keep your bamboo floors looking great.
Tip #1 - DO Carefully Consider Area of Installation - One important thing
that you must do before you even install the bamboo into your home is to
consider where you want to install this flooring. Bamboo should never be
installed in places that are going to get damp, so you should avoid installing
this type of flooring in your bathrooms or laundry areas.
Tip #2 - DON’T Use a Wet Mop - Since bamboo hardwood flooring should not
get overly wet or damp, you need to make sure that you never use a wet mop on
your bamboo floors. When you are cleaning this type of flooring, a damp mop or
even a dry mop will work best and will keep from damaging your beautiful floors.
Tip #3 - DO Use Mats and Rugs to Protect - In any doorways where there is
heavy traffic and where dirt often gets tracked in, you will want to use a mat
or throw rug to protect your bamboo flooring. You will also want to use rugs in
key areas that may be prone to spills to protect your bamboo floors from getting
wet as well. It may cost you a bit of extra money to purchase mats and rugs, but
it will help you extend the life of your bamboo flooring, so the money will be
well worth it.
Tip #4 - DON’T Use Abrasives or Detergents - No doubt you will want to
keep your bamboo hardwood flooring looking beautiful and clean, but you should
never use either abrasives or detergents on your floors. Abrasives like steel
wool can ruin the finish of your floor, and detergents can damage your flooring
as well. If you want to make your flooring last, then avoid using either of
these to clean your floors.
Tip #5 - DO Consider Your Footwear - When you are walking around on your
beautiful floors, one thing you need to consider is your footwear. Walking
around in spike high heels or certain athletic shoes, such as cleats, can damage
your flooring. Avoid wearing these kinds of shoes in your home in order to keep
your bamboo floors looking great.
If you keep these simple tips in mind and use them daily, it will help you to
ensure that your bamboo floors will last a long time. No doubt you are thrilled
with the beauty and resilience of your new bamboo hardwood flooring, so make
sure you take every measure to keep your floors well cared for and attractive.
